We needed 4 new batteries! |
May 1-3
We traveled 34 miles on ICW to Chesapeake, Va. and stayed at the Atlantic Yacht Basin. This is a full service yacht repair facility. Karl arranged to have our inverter repaired. They sent out an electrician named Sparky! After testing things out, he said we needed 4 new batteries and 2 new alternators. The batteries are very large and very heavy, weighing at least 120 pounds each and are very expensive! Fortunately, they were able to locate the right new batteries and alternators. They were able to fix everything in one day! We hope this will help solve the problem, so we don't have to run the generator all the time when we are not connected to shore power.

Karl working on the A/C pump for the fly bridge
Karl is down in the engine room, this is the port engine and Karl has on a blue shirt, you can barely see him |
The next day, Karl changed out the fly bridge air conditioning pump. The A/C kept going out on us, so he needed to replace it, which he has done before. I took Salty to be groomed and to the vet to get a needed vaccination. Turned out she had an ear infection which needed treatment.
