Tree lined residential streets |
April 10
This is a great place for Karl to run and for me to walk. The streets are lined with old oak trees with Spanish Moss and there is a very nice park a few blocks away. We are just steps away from the historic district. The homes are gorgeous, some dating back to the 1700's! Georgetown is the third oldest town in SC. It is a small town. This part of South Carolina's coastline is sometimes called the Low Country, because of its wet, dense soil, marshes and tidal swamps. This area was originally dependent on plantation agriculture, which included indigo dye, rice and cotton. Today it is entirely different, but the history tells the story of the South and its culture. Now this coastline depends heavily on tourism, industry and fishing.

Karl has found someone who can fix the damaged part on our boat. He came today to start the process of patching the hole. He said it would take several days to complete, due to having to sand, epoxy, paint, etc. many steps involved.
