Three and a half weeks to go!

We are loaded up and ready to go

We are definitely getting excited and ready to go.  Will probably have to put the paddle boards up in case we get into rough weather crossing the gulf to Clearwater.  We have read lots of books and are getting a pretty good idea of where we can and cannot go because of our air height of slightly under 19 feet.  We will be able to go down the Erie Canal to the Oswego canal and then cross Lake Ontario to the Trent Severn canal.  Skipper Bob’s book says this is by far the most beautiful area of the trip and particularly Georgian Bay and North Channel.  Well, it will be a long time before we get there but no reason not to get excited about it now.  I am waiting for an Autopilot face to be replaced and installation of an AIS Transducer and Transponder.  Anyone who considers this trip should first of all join the American’s Great Loop Cruisers Association.  They have a lot of helpful information as well as daily discussions concerning every aspect of the trip by their members.
